Starbucks has two new flavors rolling out to its US stores this summer, both based on tea and not on milk/cream, like their other frappuccinos. The first flavor is pomegranate, which is a blend of juice concentrate and green tea. The second is a tangerine-lime flavor, a blend of tea, tangerine and orange juices with a hint of lime. There is even a new "tea blended" category on their website, but no drinks have been added to it as of yet.
It's nice to see something a bit lighter on the menu, not to mention that this will be a big plus for non-dairy drinkers. The drinks sound extremely refreshing, but they also sound like a rerelease of the old Tiazzi and Tazoberry drinks, which were fruity tea frappuccinos as well. Of course, they didn't come in either of these flavors - though citrus, berry and mango all saw some time on the menu board - but the principle is the same.
As a big fan of those older drinks, I'm definitely glad to hear that these are being added to the summer lineup at Starbucks.

Also here we have them in our grocery and book stores. My comment , if you think it is too expensive stay out.

I have them squirt some caramel around in the cup first and drizzle more caramel on top of the whipped cream. To die for! Very fresh banana tasting. They said they use actual banana puree'. Delicious! But, yeah...definitely fattening and can do big damage to the wallet on a daily basis.

Regarding (almost) all of the above comments: We are so wrapped up in arguments/discussions about teas and coffees, that I think some people have missed out on something entirely different. If you are going to rant and rave about something, at least learn how to spell (and be grammatically correct).

Not only do the color combinations attract a lot of attention from coworkers/friends (green, purple and white), but the drink itself is very light and refreshing. Definitely a favorite of mine during our long, hot desert summers.

First of all, educate yourself before ranting and raving on a public website. The drinks do NOT have as many calories as a hamburger and fries....look it up!!! It is clearly stated on our website. Secondly...look at what Starbucks does for the environment and the communities. We build free medical clinics in the countries from which we buy our coffee. We donate our pastries daily to food banks, we contribute to our local communities in any way that we can and are encouraged to do so by our corporate headquaters and our employees are giving such great benefits that even PART TIME people get FULL medical/dental/vision/tuition/and alternative care. So if your lazy ass spends $3.00 for a latte, even you are contributing to the world... again....EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE SOUNDING LIKE AND @SS!!!!!!!!

When someone wrote asking if we couldn't just all get a long (s/b one word, not two) it was all I could do not to get out my virtual red pen!! Also...I just received in the mail approximately 30 minutes ago something that makes me wonder if there is a Starbucks god. A gift card for a new Starbucks opening even closer than the one already right up the road. It's good for a free cup on them, and can also be re-loaded!! Still got to love the ol' American marketing machine at work...go Starbucks!!
p.s. My little Honda Accord doesn't morph into an SUV when I pull into the drive-thru unfortunately.

I guessing as Starbucks opens in small towns across the South, they have to make sweet tea for us. I love the hazelnut mocha and valencia mocha, but for some people around here it must be too hot for coffee, but sweet tea is always in order, I like the Zen (green tea with honey and mint), I love sweet black tea, also if Starbucks did Agua Frescas, like sweet jaimica (Hibiscus) tea it would be popular.

Many familys make it a morning ritual with their kids, and most of the kids HATE coffee so I think these will be an excellent alternative for them. All Starbucks is doing is making more of a variety to satisfy everyones palate. Also many people want a frappuccino but can't have milk (all fraps have a milk base) so they get discouraged. Anyways lets not bash a company that is only trying to satisfy an even broader spectrum of customers.
