Britney Spears feeds ice cream to her 8-month old son

britney spearsOops, she did it again.

Britney Spears has made it into the news with her parenting, this time for feeding ice cream to her 8-month old son. Britney claims that she feeds Sean Preston the ice cream because "He loves ice cream - it makes him sleep better."

British dietitian Sarah Gosnay says that too much sugar in the snack before bedtime will keep a child awake rather than help him to fall asleep. Not only is the ice cream not so good for his body when he eats it because it is high in saturated fat and sugar, but it sets an unhealthy pattern for later in life.

It shouldn't take a dietitian to point this out. Isn't that just common sense in parenting? Which of course, Britney doesn't seem to have.

It's nobody's business whther she gives her kid ice cream or not. We are not her baby's nanny or doctor. I certainly wouldn't want anyone questioning my every parental step. If she's not beating her child she should be left alone.

As for jmchez, this episode is just one more bit in a long line of evidence as to how bad a mother Ms. Spears is. It's not one event that makes a bad apple, but many. She's racking them up like crazy.

People should have high expectations that her child will end up ridiculously obese based on the fact that she feeds him ice cream before bed.

Obviously, she's not the world's brightest bulb, and neither is Britney.

I've given my nine month old icecream, (although less than half a teaspoon in minute quantities) however I'm not a celebrity with a million cameras staring at me.

Britney has to do the best she can, like the rest of us. At least she is trying!

So WHAT if she gave her little boy ice cream, it WILL NOT kill him and he probably enjoyed the new sensation! Everything that has hit the news about her and her child is, sorry to burst your bubble, NORMAL. My child was in a screaminbg rage once when he was an infant and I was so stricken that I held him in my lap as I drove to the hospital. Go ahead - post a news break. He's fallen and hit his head a lot, know why? He couldn't walk or sit yet - they have to learn how to do that, you know. How do any of us know if the child has fractured his skull or not from a common bump? I can't afford an in-home x-ray machine, can you? Letting your baby try ice cream, no biggie. And for those of you who say a kid shouldn't have sugar that young, I am SO glad you're not my mommy - bbooorring!
