Having a child with food allergies can be difficult. Even when you control the food in your home, it is hard to keep track of what your child is being offered throughout the day. This is especially true of very small children, who may not yet know how important it is to ask questions about ingredients. If a well-meaning parent brings peanut butter cookies in to the preschool, a child with peanut allergies could be seriously at risk. This is where AllerGators come in. The company started because some parents found that there were not many ways to let other people know that their son was severely allergic to peanuts. After two hospitalizations, a doctor suggested that they put a piece of duct tape with a note written on it onto their child's shirt. Looking for something that their son would actually enjoy wearing, they created the adorable alligator mascot and the brand was born. The shirts com in girl and boy gator designs and in sizes from 2T to 7/8. It's a brilliant way to help protect your son or daughter from needless exposure to allergens that could do serious damage.
