I know that it's been a while since our original post about its release, but I finally got to try a can of Dr. Pepper Berries & Cream. Actually, I have to admit that it was the diet version, and not the regular. No matter. The soda really exceeded my expectations. I thought that it would be overly sweet, perhaps a bit cough-syrupy, but the soda was perfectly sweetened and the berry flavor wasn't overwhelming. You can definitely tell that the flavor is raspberry, though, which was a nice change from all the vanilla/cherry vanilla/ black cherry vanilla sodas going around.
Overall? I thought it was great and I'm glad I opted for the 12-pack instead of a single bottle. It means that I don't have to go back out to the store so I can have another one.

My husband is excited to try this soda. However, it's still only available as a diet soda in our area. Why do they always pitch these new flavours as diet first?

That's a good question. Maybe diet drinkers are more likely to try new flavors?
I actually saw the regular version when I was buying mine at Target, so I'm sure they'll be available soon.

Its just ok. I like the idea "If its not broken don't fix it." Dr. Pepper (original) is great. This is just a passing fad like Pepsi Clear. I have yet to be impressed with a modified soda.

They have had it around our area for quite some time. I can't comment on the non-diet version as I've converted to diet sodas (though regular DP was my staple for years), but I love this stuff. I find the diet-DP (this in particular) doesn't leave a bad after taste in my mouth like diet-Coke, but it's quite pleasent. I'm on my thrid or so frige pack, haven't gotten tired of it yet!

Can anyone comment on how it compares to the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper? I was so excited about that and then it tasted like Robitussin, so I've been wary about the new flavor.

Any idea why the packaging design looks so much like some sort of household cleaning product?

I thought the Diet Berrys & Cream Dr. Pepper tasted like medicine. Yuck! I would still rather have Dr. Pepper Red Fusion.

Miranda - I think that it's slightly less sweet than the Cherry Dr Pepper, and haven't run into a raspberry cough-syrup yet, so I would have to guess that you'll like it more.
Jason - I agree that the packaging is bad. The non-diet is slightly more appealing, but still...
