Hershey's is doing a pretty massive campaign
for its new Take 5 candy bar. I've seen advertisements
for it in magazines, on billboards and all over the Internet. I didn't know that a candy bar needed so much
marketing.
I guess it works because I bought one. They call it the "greatest candy bar ever."
The candy comes in two pieces in the package, which is actually a nice way to eat half now and save half for later if you're "dieting" a little but like me. Of course, "later" is only five minutes, but who's keeping track here?!
The base is a windowpane pretzel on top of which is layered peanut butter, caramel, and peanuts. The entire thing tasted alright, but it felt like there was way too much going on in one candy bar. I like chocolate-covered pretzels. I also like caramel-filled chocolates like Rolo. I can even handle a Snickers bar. But where there's an entire concession stand in there, it's just too much.

ADD? A-D-Delicious. sorry, it's way to early for me to attempt coherency.

I love the bar - it's the perfect "combination" bar with the pretzel doing a good job keeping the whole thing from getting too heavy and sweet. I like the mix of textures, salt, sweet, chewy and creamy. I can't handle a whole Snickers bar, I prefer the miniatures.
The sad thing is that I can't stand the new ad campaign for the candy bar, I hope it doesn't tank it.

The best part is that the peanut butter Take 5 is ever BETTER. I didn't think it possible, but it's absolutely true.

I gotta side with all the other commenters, I think it's a great bar! Though I will say that the peanut butter and white chocolate versions just don't do it for me. Oh, in the overmarketing department, Hershey's is now selling them in 3 for 99 cents and has even labelled the package accordingly.
