Hardee's remained a distant memory of my East Coast childhood until the third day of a
road trip last summer. We were on the way to a KCBS barbecue competition and paused
to eat what we all agreed was the best fast-food breakfast sandwich ever. Why no one else has come up with something as
tasty as the Grilled Pork Chop Biscuit is beyond me.
Out of
gluttonous machismo I also tried the Thickburger. A third of a pound of fast-food beef was plenty for me. Now,
picture the very same patty capped with a Philly cheesesteak.
Hardee's is quick to point out that the gutbusting Phillycheesteak
Thickburger it unveiled this week is no mere cheeseburger gussied up with peppers and onions. It's a Thickburger
crowned with thinly sliced steak, two kinds of cheese and green peppers and onions. I haven't read what this thing
weighs in at, but judging by the photo, my money's on just over half a pound.
I like to think that Hardee's Philly Cheesesteak Thickburger was inspired by SNL's Taco Town sketch, a
brilliant piece that simultaneously skewers and celebrates the wretched, surreal excess of fast food today. All I know
is, next time I'm on some Interstate this summer and a blue food sign with a smiling Hardee's logo pops into view, I'm
gonna have to try one of these monsters. I just hope they're on the breakfast menu. God help me.

I've never been much of a fast food junkie, but I would try this burger. The problem is that I just moved to Boston from California. All the good fast food places I liked out west aren't here. In-n-Out Burger, Del Taco, Carl's Jr (Hardee's sister store). Someone told me an Arby's is nearby but I can't find it. I lived in Washington DC for a while and Hardee's was there, but not up here. Looks like I'll have to drive to Pennsylvania to try this and the pork chop busciut. However, I bet I could make the breakfast sanwich at home, and it would probably be better.

We decided to have the new philly sandwich....WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!! The meat was hard and almost couldn't find the roast beef. It cost me $8.10 for two sandwiches that were not worth 5 cents. I usually don't put comments like this but it was so disgusting I had to. Sorry.

I have not tried the philly cheesesteak but the only reason the meat for the meat being hard like that is the burger was not dropped to order like they usually are. My only suggestion is to talk to a manager and you may get a free meal out of it.

Upon my trip to struthersland last wednesday , at 7:23PM I took a step into my fear zone. I was hungry like a man and wanted a meal GODHAMLET . I was lucky enough to taste the savory flavor of the Hardees Monster Burger and I am looking forward to the next time I can enjoy one!
