Over at Luxist, they reported that La Maison du Chocolate has put
together one of the world's most expensive Easter
eggs. Priced at £50,000 (about $87,000), the 2-foot tall egg is made of chocolate that was imported from
France and is entirely covered with 100 half-carat diamonds. On the inside, the egg has a peach, apricot and
praline filling, and it is interesting to note that the egg - less the diamonds, of course - is completely
edible. The egg is on display at La Maison du Chocolate in
London.

I could imagen ,if it was not for the Diamonds the Interest wouldnt be there.It would just be a nother Chocolate Easteregg.I would be very happy to receive it as a Gift.Hahahaha
10Why not auction the egg off and use the money to help support victims of the recent hurricanes, or some other worthy thing like buying food or providing meals to feed the less fortunate. I might be more impressed if they would now sell the egg, and use the money to help the unfortunate somehow. Is this the BEST you can do??? A display?
14That's it? In the picture? Seriously? It isn't very attractive. I mean, my kid could put diamonds in a circle and paste some colored stars on an egg. Did I mention that she is 3? You would think that for 78k, you'd get a really attractive design, wouldn't you?

16ok people --NUMBER ONE-- its NOT a waste of MONEY--its not like the diamonds are going to melt --even if the egg does...jeeze--NUMBER TWO--when easter is over---SOMEONE will be taking the diamonds OFF the egg and using them for jewerly...NUMBER THREE---no where in this piece did it mention that the egg is for SALE ..just that its on DISPLAY...and even if it was for sale--whoever would buy it would probably be normally buying 100 .5 carat diamonds anyway
19What a stupid idea. Who has that much extra time on their hands, and all that money to be wasted on something like this? A diamond-studded Easter Egg? Come on! They could use that money for a worthy cause, like donate it to a Children's Hospital, or feed the hungry, or SOMETHING worthwhile! But to put diamonds on an Easter egg... A 2 FOOT TALL EASTER EGG!?!?!? Gimme a break! Put the money to a good worthwhile cause!
20Noone mentioned the obvious situation what if one piece of chocolate is eaten and they accidently swallow a diamond? These people have too much time on their hands and should be doing something more humane or worthwhile during the Easter season and I am not even very religious.
