ShotPak, a shot in a bag

Apparently flasks and miniature bottles of booze are just too bulky for some folks to carry around. For them, there's the ShotPak, little plastic pouches that hold 50ml cocktails like lemon drops or kamikazes. It's like a packet of ketchup, but it costs two bucks and it's 17.5 percent alcohol. Come to think of it, at a little over an ounce and a half and only 35 proof, you'd better pack a couple of those in your purse if you're looking to get a buzz on.

It was a drink in a tube, along the lines of what you might expect tomato paste, condensed milk or toothpaste to come in. They sold it filled with either alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, though I recall the one that I sampled wasn't particularly pleasant. I think it was made by an Austrian company targeting nightclub kids, who could wear the tubes around their neck...

These ShotPaks sound cute and no doubt would come under fire in the US for being marketed to kids. Too bad... I would actually attend movies in a theater if I had a couple of these stashed away.

Maybe it's just me (a 36 yo with 4 kids) but I'd pretty certain I could go an hour and a half, watching a film, without feeling the need to get some spirits down me!?!?! Or maybe I am just too old and don't undertand....

No offense, It is not that kids could not go 1 and 1/2 hours w/out spirits it is more along the lines of they want to keep a buzz going so not to get tired and not make the later party's cause they passed out early and also it helps them (guy's) get courage to try and make a move. I hope I do not have to deal with the same issues but I am sure I will. I am 26 and have three girls ages 7,3 and 3 months. I just put myself in their shoes simply for the fact you can get a better understanding of what these kids are doing. By the way I used to drink but completley stopped drinking so I am not being a hypocrite. M.O.O. though.
