March has been gone now for several days. It's April. There's no denying that Spring has sprung. However, with the weather that is still playing tricks on us, it's hard not to stay inside, bundled up in heavy sweaters. I think I had my heater on over the weekend.
I always love the change of the seasons, but sometimes, I like to cling to the very last vestiges of whatever season is soon to be gone for the next nine months. I can't help it. I cling like that, especially to warm, wintry foods that I'm going to miss. Sure, I'm going to love barbecue and crisp summer salads, but in these last few days, let me have my moment with winter foods like thick, heavy, hearty oatmeal raisin pancakes fragrant with cinnamon, dripping with melted butter and warm maple syrup.
What will you miss about winter foods? Hot chocolate? Chowder? Stews?
