First, there were deep-fried Twinkies. Now, there's an entire cookbook devoted to the little yellow sponge cake filled with cream.
I didn't grow up with this delectable treat from Hostess, but I have tasted them, so it's hard for me to imagine the "nostalgia" factor for them. They taste sort of, well, maunfactured, I guess?
The book is titled The Twinkie Cookbook: An Inventive and Unexpected Recipe Collection. The book is collection of recipes from cooks who responded to Twinkie's call for recipes during their 75 year anniversary celebration last year. Twinkie-misu? Pigs in a Twinkie? Inventive indeed.
It will be released on April 15, 2006, available for $9.97 on Amazon.
