Vitaminwater vs. Lifewater

Looking at the two bottles to the right, it comes as little surprise that the makers of Glaceau's vitaminwater (right) have filed a suit against PepsiCo for their new SoBe Lifewater (left). According to a recent article on BevNET, Glaceau claims that Pepsico's Lifewater copied their flavorings and ingredients, including a sweetener never before used in any PepsiCo product until now. The Washington Post has more about the dueling nutrient-infused waters.

My friend told me about vitamin water, and my mom bought me life water cuz they didn't sell vitamin water in packs we\here she shops, so i tryed it. I don't really see the difference between the vitamin waters, but i still like both of them. I like the vitamin water's taste because it goes down faster, which makes me drink more at practice. The life water's taste is good to(very close too each other), but during practice when i have life water i don't drink or gulp it all down, but the vitamin water i do.

It is also better for you, it has just as many vitamins and herbs as Vitamin Water, but it has 7 grams less sugar as well. Life Water is a clear cut winner in this battle. Vitamin water is extremely bland, the only decent flavor of Vitamin Water would be Essential(Orange), and the Life Water version of the orange is much better.

um, no. I don't drink vitaminwater, but I drink fruitwater, also by Glaceau. I saw this product for the first time yesterday at a gas station. I did a double take, wondering if glaceau had redesigned the packaging or added a new version....clearly imitative to me.

A friend of mine hooked me up with these little twist tubes that I put into 16oz of water and they have like 25% of the sweetener that Vitamin Water does. I think that they are organic/natural as well.

Hope this helps.

But for the most part I've switched to life water. It's a lot better for you, as someone said, it has less sugar. And if you go for the zero cal life water, it has absolutely no sugar at all. It's sweetened with a thing called pure via, which is from some plant. It has a slight diet taste at first (Anyone who drinks regular soda and has tried diet knows what I mean), but it's not bad enough to stop me from drinking it. Zero sugar, Zero calories, what's not to love?

What really irritates me is the fact they try to make it look healthy!

Their health claims - on bottles and on the website - are, at least, not responsible.

Any dietary supplements with such claims would be banned by FDA.

What I have found about vitamin water here:

Be well,

and yesterday my dad went to the store and bought this life water stuff
it kind of freaked me out
im actually drinking it right now and for the most part they both taste the same except for life water has a more strange taste to it
im not surprised that glaceau is sueing PepsiCo
and i hope that glaceau wins the trial (if there is one)
to me, life water is an imposter
and it kind of sickens me
vitamin water is just too good to mess around with.

Its like Pepsi trying to sue Coke for being Cola-like. Even if they change the packaging, I, as a consumer, like the taste of lifewater. And ever since this law suit, I've seen less vitamin water on the shelves, and I refuse to drink vitamin water. The caffeine or whatever they put in it makes me jittery.

Only one Vitamin Water has caffeine, and it's the 'Energy' flavor which is specifically made to energize you using Caffeine + B vitamins. If you don't want caffeine, do the intelligent thing and don't choose the one flavor that has caffeine added! Duh!
