Might I have an obsession with measuring spoons? I have a very cute set of heart-shaped spoons that measure things out like "a spoonful of laughter." Now I think I might actually start collecting measuring spoons, the way some people collects balloon whisks or other kitchen utensils.
I love these measuring spoons made by Decor Craft Inc out of Providence, Rhode Island. At first glance, they look just like regular round measuring spoons, but if you look closely, the fractional measurements are actually cut out of the spoons.

Feh. Good design is about function over form, and those spoons look like they'd be every bit as unfriendly to use as Decor Craft's all-Flash-no-bookmarks Web site.
If you want a good set of spoons, look at these from the Baker's Catalogue:

Heavy stainless steel, narrow enough to fit into spice jars, easy cleanup, all of the sizes you need, and easy to use. I have those and love them, and I'd take another set of those over cutesy, fat, hard-to-use clever-looking spoons any day.

Yay to the industrial designer that came up with these!! An expression of function in form. Though they my not be the ultimate set of measuring utensils for cooking or baking, collections aren't necessarily about function. I think they're great.

I think those spoons are cool. Where can one find those?

Pro: People who rely more on feel than sight might find them very handy.
Con: They don't nest, thus take up more space than they should.
