Cupcakes are cute. Miniature cupcakes are even cuter. And something called Babycakes is the most adorable of all.
Babycakes in a bakery in New York City that bakes, not just cupcakes, but cupcakes specifically for children. As much as petite cupcakes may befit kids in size, they may not be very good for their stomachs, nor for infants and toddlers with allergies. Thus, the name "babycakes."
According to their website, the cupcakes contain no refined sugar, eggs, nuts, dairy, gluten, soy or wheat. Instead of these things, Babycakes uses ingredients like coconut oil as the "fat," and agave nectar, birch tree sweetener, and date sugar as sweeteners. Flavors include lemon poppy, plain vanilla, fresh fruit-filled vanilla, chocolate, and carrot.
I'm not sure how these taste (since I'm all the way over here in LA), but would love to hear from anyone in NYC who has tried them.
