Forbes list of coolest kitchen gadgets

black and decker can opener

While I consider my knife as the coolest "gadget" in my kichen (or maybe my rice cooker), there are people out there who love to fill their drawers and countertops with electronic kitchen gadgets (and whether these gadgets actually save time or energy is questionable). Forbes has a list of their favorite kitchen gadgets, ranging from a $5 ice cream "saver" to a

  • Tassimo Hot Beverage System: $170 for an uber fancy coffee-maker. Hey, if you spend $4 a day on your uber fancy double tall half caff half decaf steamed milk no foam with a splash of almond syrup mocha at GiveUsYourBucks, then this will pay itself off in less than 45 days!
  • Kupperbush Induction Wok: For $3,500, Yan doesn't have to cook. You can!
  • Sephra Chocolate Fondue Fountain: $100. Kinda sexy. If you're into that kind of stuff.
  • Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Protector: $5.50 to protect your pint of Chubby Hubby from freezing over, but the question is, who doesnt finish a pint of Ben & Jerry's in one sitting?
  • Whirlpool Polara Refrigerator Oven: We saw something like this earlier this year. $1400
  • Sharp AX700 Super-heated Steam Oven: This is pretty cool, actually, until we see that it's $1400.
  • LG LRSC26980: Really now, does it have to have that many numbers and letter in the name? For $2999 it sure does!
  • Back to Basics Egg and Muffin Maker: $50 so you can make eggs and toast your bread at the same time.
  • Intelliscan Bluetooth Wine Collector's Bar Code Scanner: For the wine geek. $300.

Hey, anything that can make it EASY to include more FRESH veggies--and fruit--in our diet is worth $40. It's like a prescription for improved health. Try it!! (FYI--got it at Bed, Bath & Beyond.)

You have to try it---you put your toast or muffin in like a regular toaster and on the right side is a little steamer cup---you put in water, an egg, and the lid. Then turn it on and it synchronizes releasing the bread when the egg is done---amazing. You can set the desired cooking level for both the egg and the toast easily. An amazingly cool product and almost no clean-up. I used it 4 or 5 times a week. It also cooks 4 boiled eggs to perfection and turns itself off when done.

If links were spresent I might actually purchase something I find here but without them it's simply too much time to waste looking for something I don't even know if I might want or not.

OK, as a world famous writer (in my own mind) and the mother of one 9 year old, and a host mom (this year) to one 17 year old German Foreign Exchange student, as the author of six books - with five out and the sixth coming out next week, and the wife of one overworked aerospace engineer...I don't have time to spend a lot of time in the Kitchen. So, whomever came up with this list THANK YOU. However, I didn't see links that tell me about the product right below it. Or maybe it's too early here and I missed them. I'd like to be able to click and find out about each product. And when they come up with a Personal Chef for 100 bucks a month - let me know.

Also, LG is just the chic, modern front of the embarrassment that has become Zenith corp. Their products should be avoided at all costs.

Small size attachment for diced and larger for slices like potatoes for french fries. Change attachments easily. No effort and works great. Saves me loads of time with prep work.nicerdicer.com
