Bring back Sara

A few loyal viewers have begun a campaign to bring Sara Moulton back to the Food Network. It seems that the attempted demographic switch isn't sitting very well with the viewers who enjoy a something educational - perhaps even about cooking - along with their entertainment. The Bring Back Sara campaign involves writing letters to the network in an effort to convince them to "opt for steak over sizzle" and stay truer to their original format, instead of letting the likes of Sara go. Because Sara already has a new show lined up on PBS, it seems unlikely that the Network would bring her back without a truly massive response to her departure. Hopefully, this will serve to highlight the issue to the executives at the station and have them reconsider their choices to eliminate some of their best shows and, in the future, have them consider adding more substantial shows back into the line-up.

Unfortunatley PBS isn't the greatest alternative as each region has a different agenda to show. Perhaps our local pbs stations will actually read feedback regarding these shows, but then again you have to deal with the schedule each station chooses.

My ultimate wish: I'd love to see a cooking show version of NetFlix, with dvd rentals of *international* cooking shows.

Going the MTV route is a recipe for disaster.
