Supermarket sandwiches are not too bad

supremarket sandwich

I'm not sure why, but for some reason, I have always thought slightly less of any foods that are sold in the supermarket prepared foods and deli section - baked goods, whole roast chickens, soups, and even coffee. I think it has to do with my associating them with the generic supermarket brands on the shelves. Of course, we all know now that many of the supermarket's own brands are practically the same in terms of quality.

I have changed my mind! In a mad rush through the market, knowing I wouldn't have time to stop somewhere else for lunch, I "settled" for a turkey sandwich from the deli counter. Normally, my subconscious would have thought, "that can't be as good as something from the little local deli on the corner," but it was! It was delicious! And why wouldnt it be? The supermarket deli has access to all the ingredients right there in the store - fresh baked breads, fresh produce, and have I forgotten that when I make sandwiches at home, it is often with the deli meats I have purchased from the market.

It doesnt hurt that the supermarket sandwich is about half the price, too.

my friend says it's the meat which they cook in store and it's on the medium rare side of things.
