Review: Adora Calcium Chocolates

Adora CalciumThese are so good.

I mentioned these last month and, though it took a while, I finally got to try them. Adora makes all natural chocolate calcium supplements, each piece containing 500mg of calcium – half the recommended daily minimum! They are available in milk and dark chocolates, unlike the the Trader Joe's version, which only come in milk chocolate. The milk chocolate is smooth and creamy, melting in your mouth as soon as you pop it in. It seems to be excellent milk chocolate, which is really astounding in something that doubles as a nutritional supplement.

The dark chocolate is not quite as smooth as the milk chocolate, lingering for several moments on the tongue before it begins to melt. Nevertheless, the flavor is dark and smooth. It is also really refreshing to have a dark chocolate option offered, since the majority of chocolate supplements and chocolate-flavored supplements favor milk chocolate flavors.

Overall, these are fantastic both in terms of flavor and nutritional benefit. Check the website to see if they’re available in your neighborhood.

If any of your readers would like a FREE sample to try Adora for themselves, simply email your address to us at info@adoraSAMPLES.com and mention the SLASHFOOD REVIEW and we will get you a sample of both the milk and dark versions for your trial.

Five times more expense is a bit of an exaggeration however. Suggested retail for a 30-ct bag of Adora is $6.99 and they are going for about $6.49 and lower at some stores. Online they range from $6.49 each in larger quantities or $7.99 each. Compared to Viativ that is about the same price. Viativ comes in a 60-ct for the same price, so Adora is twice as much as that calcium supplement.

Think about this. It is about value. Would you pay more for a high quality product? A Mercedes and a Ford Escort are both good cars, but would you pay more for a higher quality product even though they serve the same purpose (transportation)?

Would you pay more for a premium real all-natural chocolate made from a 127 year old chocolate company instead of a pharmaceutical company making a "chocolate-tasting" product? Adora is Calcium, the gourmet way. Taste the difference. (FREE SAMPLES ON ME-see top of message)

Adora costs 23-26 cents each vs. Viativ 13 cents, so the difference is 10 cents. How much is premium all-natural chocolate worth to you?

I got an email from a reader of my blog that said she found them at her health food store on sale for $5.99 a bag. Keep your eye out for sales and definitely take advantage of the samples so you pick the one that you know you'll eat (no point in spending all that money if you're not going to eat them).

They are definitely FAR tastier than Viactiv - everyone in my office who has tried both are now huge fans of the Adora.
