Blush wines are derided by wine aficionados because generally they
are pants - sickeningly sweet and confected. Now some bright spark has created a pink whisky-based concoction.
By all accounts, it's not that bad. If it's good enough for Harvey Nicols and top malt emporium The Whisky Shop, it has to be something special. The newly formed Leith Liqueur Company selected a 14 year old Speyside single malt as the base for Strawberry Kiss but the rest of the manufacturing process is a secret. It is described as not "too sweet or cloying." From the packaging though, it does look like it is aiming for the female market.
(I should just say that many rosé wines are actually rather nice).

I'll try it, for the novelty value alone.

It's a travesty - ruining a fine single malt to make some crappy "girlie" drink. It's PINK for crying out loud! I am going to get out my bottle of Glendronach and console myself.

Oh my god, I'd love to get these for my girlfriends.. who all have whisky-loving boyfriends, who would think this so extremely stupid. I *really* hope it'll be available in Sweden :)

I'm interested. I've only had Scotch once and it wasn't bad, just a little too much for me. This could just get me started down the Scotch road (assuming I can find someplace where I can try a glass as opposed to having to buy an entire bottle).
