Snapple releasing flavored tea bags

snapple logoThe Chicago Sun Times managed to get ahold of some of the first samples of a new line of products from Snapple. After dominating the iced tea market with their teas flavored with real juices, Snapple is releasing a line of tea bags. The tea bags will be available in four flavors, Le-mmm-on, Wild 'Bout Berries, Orange-Inality and Strawberry, all of which are flavored with real fruits and natural juices. Le-mmm-on is, predictably, lemon flavored black tea, while the Orange-Inality is an herbal tea infused with orange and a hint of lychee. These teas may already be available in your area, but if you have not seen them yet, it is likely that they will be on shelves soon.

I AM OUTRAGED. my friend lauren came up with this idea and WROTE to Snapple over a year ago suggesting that the company release a line of tea bags... she recieved back a mundane response from the company, and now a year later they are releasing this product without any thanks or compensation to her.

I will take this to court if I have to... sure you might think they could've come up with this on their own, but they didn't... I love Snapple, but this is simply unacceptable.

It takes more than a year to work out the ingredients, graphics, licensing and many other details. The reason you got the mundane response is that the idea was already being worked but was not allowed to be publicized.

The article claims the tea bags are infused with "real juice". Is that really any different than adding the bits of fruit directly in the tea?
