Upcoming Iron Chef Celebrity Chef Battles

I am a big fan of the Iron Chef shows, both the American version and the original, Japanese version. The shows are a culinary competition between two outstanding and acclaimed chefs. One, of course, is an "Iron Chef" - a standing competitor and always the favorite, rather like the home team in sports. The challenger is a restaurateur or chef that cooks against one of the Iron Chefs to see "whose cuisine reigns supreme." The dishes must feature a theme ingredient that is revealed to competitors at the beginning of the show, though I have heard that they are presented with several potential ingredients in advance. During the "battle", which lasts one hour, the chefs must prepare 5 dishes, which are almost always unusual, innovative and elaborately plated. Once the battle has come to an end, the dishes are tasted and judged on taste, creativity and presentation by a panel of judges, which can include a variety of critics, writers and actors.

Bobby Flay is one of the American Iron Chefs. He also updates his own site fairly frequently, announcing various news items and when they are filming new episodes of the Iron Chef. Recently, he mentioned that this season will feature a battle including some of the other Food Network celebrity chefs, namely Giada deLaurentiis and Rachael Ray. They will be pairing up with Bobby and Mario Batali, respectively. I would be inclined to think that Bobby has the advantage with Giada, who formerly worked at Spago, on his side, but perhaps Rachael will surprise us. She certainly has a knack for quickly-cooked meals. There is no known air date for this celebrity chef battle, yet.

I have read a lot of the comments on your "website" and I must say that Food TV offers "a little bit of everything for everyone" so take your nasty comments and stuff them into your meat loaf because NO ONE CARES. Most of you are so stupid that you couldn't boil water. Food TV is entertaining and take away what you can from your tiny, little brain.

I love all the chefs featured...and if I don't like what I'm watching, I simply go do something else or change the channel.

As for most of the shows, they inspire me to at least get back in the kitchen and out of the restaurants! They are pleasant and you don't have to worry if the kids walk in the room. Thank heaven for cable, it gives us choices.

The Barefoot Contessa: That fat ass looks like she ate the cow. And the camara close-ups of her while she's cooking and eating are absurd! Geez.

I'd just like to point out to the woman who was so cross with Rachel about the $40 per day program that she is spending $40 per day for food while traveling, not while cooking in her own kitchen. Frankly, considering where the show has been filmed, for example New York City, I am amazed that she has been able to come up with really interesting meals and stick to the $40 per day. Yes at home we all have to pinch our pennies, but Rachel is showing us how to do it "on the road".

Thank you Food network. You guys are doing a great job. I would really like to see a show on African Cooking.

Sometimes I get so emspired by either paula, or racheal ray, that I try and duplicate the same meal for dinner sometimes, It turns out good, sometimes not so good, but either way, I know that I had fun doing it, with the talk, also comes knowledge, when racheal ray cooks, she is very enlightening, I feel I know her. Cut it out people, we are all in this together............

We moved from Kona, Hawai'i and now life full time on Phuket Island, Thailand. We don't get that channel here. We truly miss the all the "food Crews". We would dine with any one them anytime, any place anywhere.
