I did intend to compile an in-depth review of all the UK chocolate bars beginning with D. All I saw was copious variations of Cadbury's Dairy Milk - some with bits in (raisins, biscuit or both), some plain, some with hazelnuts, some with Turkish Delight (ooo, another D!). But even the photographic possibilities didn't inspire. Then I spotted Dreamz…. Ummm, marketing names… shove a z on the end and it makes it…. I dunno what. Pants, probably.
Still, into the Waitrose basket they went. £4.99 for Popz Dreamz Milk Chocolate Drizzled Butter Toffee Popcorn. God you just know they are gonna be bad.
After a few snaps - rather pleased with the 'Mr Ambassador' styled image here by the way - I popped one in my mouth. Like eating sweet polystyrene dunked in a little milk chocolate. Awful. I had to try a couple more. Look, it's research, ok?! Got a problem with that, Matey?
As my fillings exploded with the onslaught of sweetness, I realized that these are bad. Very bad. Also deceptively moreish.
They're a product of the USA according to the box, but distributed by a Danish company.
