Scott Martin, age 20, was killed
by his diet of French fries, white toast and, on occasion, a tin of baked beans or spaghetti. He refused all fruits
and vegetables. The young British man was stricken with cirrhosis and autoimmune hepatitis, caused by malnutrition
brought on by an unhealthy diet. Both diseases destroyed his liver and his body's ability to stave off infection,
ultimately resulting in his death. Scott was told that he needed a liver transplant last year, but was afraid
of surgery and unwilling to change his diet. His family reported that Scott did not drink and that his preferred
activity was watching Manchester United on television.
To make a gross understatement, this is a very sad story. I feel for the family of this young man. Wouldn't you change your diet if your life depended up on it?

There's pleny of delicious food that's great for you. If he wanted toast, he could have at least have eaten some fruit on the side. It's hard to beat a fresh ripe peach, or a glass of fresh fruilt juice. Such an unneccessary death. May his sad fate not be in vain, and may this serve as a warning to others.

Junk food almost killed Morgan Spurlock when he went on his MacDonald's binge for his documentary "Supersize Me." I guess it's not that unique.

If white toast and beans guy can drop dead at 20, then surely my chocolate bar and french fry people could do the same a few years later :

One of my coworkers has children with aspergers and getting them to eat anything other than the one thing they like is like pulling teeth from a large ravenous beast. We are talking literally like, if not prodded, her son will eat only peanut butter and bread sandwiches, etc.
