Ok, this is kind of silly, but I got a kick out of it. Here's a simple name generator for Chinese restaurants. It's linked from a blog
called Asymptomatic.net and the little intro basically says it all: "This is
a stupid PHP program that creates names for Chinese restaurants." Tell it how many names you want and there you go:
Golden Pearl, Happy Dragon, Lotus Palace, etc. Fun, for a little while at least.Naming Chinese restaurants

There used to be one in the greater LA area called Poo Ping Palace. ...and this was some years ago so I guess they came up with it without the use of such a useful generator.

There's something wrong with this generator. China China is the worst name for a Chinese restaurant, ever.
Funny story about chinese restaurant names. I'd always wondered where they got their names from, and why; turns out that a lot of different families trying to open up restaurants will use the same lawyer. Usually it's a language barrier/cultural trust reason, and the lawyer will make up names for them when filing a business application for the family. So when you see a lot of restaurants in your city named Golden Lotus, Happy Lotus, Golden Happiness, etc, it's usually the same lawyer who filed for all those families.

As the author of the original Random Chinese Restaurant Generator I'm deeply offended a better resource was not considered.
Let's make it up to the world... oh, and there's also a Mexican Restaurant Generator on there too. (Also Italian, but it isn't as good.)
