The next time you grab a quart of Bud from your friendly Missouri stop-n-go, don't be surprised if it's warm as
panther piss. A state lawmaker is trying to combat drunk driving by restricting how cold beer can be when it's sold at
groceries and convenience stores. Senator Bill Alter feels that if beer is sold at temperatures of 60 degrees and
warmer, people would be less likely to hop in their car and drink it. Apparently the idea came from a local
fifth-grader participating in an educational program about lawmaking. Not surprisingly, a group of convenience store
owners have come out against the proposed bill, as have other lawmakers.Missouri senator wants warmer beer

I live in MO. I"m cool with that.
I consider myself a heavy drinker. I NEVER drink while driving. Never have....never will. anything to keep those idiots off the street is just fine with me.
Drinking at home is cool, but drinking and driving is dumber than a box of rocks.
Bring on the law! Down with stupid people!

While selling warm beer may help cub DUI in some cases it has another side effect that should be considered by Missouri lawmakers: Beer deteriorates quickly when kept at warmer temperatures - the more flavour a beer has the more bad effects are to be expected. Many microbrewers require wholesalers and stores to keep their beer refrigerated - to order warm storage by law would mean that Microbrews would be pushed out of the market.
