It's
Christmas Day. In case you missed it, we at slashfood wish all of you and yours a very Merry
Christmas!
Most people woke up this morning and had a cup of coffee to kick start the Christamas chaos. If you were really in the spirit, you might have made some special Christmas coffee with a national-coffee-chain's special spicy "Christmas Blend" and mixed in a little peppermint essence or perhaps just let a candy cane melt into the hot brew. Before the kids woke up, you made sure all the gifts "from Santa" made it under the tree after your 3:30 am clandestine elfin wrapping spree in your bedroom closet. Maybe you tortured your kids by making them eat breakfast first, Santa-shaped oatmeal chocolate chip pancakes, but eventually you all made it to the living room with mugs of hot chocolate to open presents.
Just thought I'd share that in our Delicious household, as we gathered around to open our very merry Christmas presents wrapped up in every combination of red, green, white, silver and gold, bedecked with smiling Santa faces and reindeer caricatures, we were not drinking peppermint cafe au laits or Christmas hot cocoa.
This Christmas afternoon, we drank glasses of semi-dry Concord grape, kosher Manischewitz!!!
Merry Christmas!
Don't worry, we'll have some eggnog tonight when we light the first candle on the menorah. :)
