"Mom, I need some dry mustard."
"Can you use the green one?"
"You mean wasabi? I can't put wasabi in my macaroni and cheese!"
"Then, no, I don't have dry mustard."
"Do you have any mustard?"
I had to sort through a clear plastic tub of condiment packets in the refrigerator door for mustard. I couldn't believe I was about to make macaroni and cheese from scratch with tiny plastic pouches of mustard!!!
What's worse, I can't believe my Mom keeps those condiments packets in her refrigerator door in the first place! The packets don't have expiration dates on them! How am I supposed to tell how old these nasty little things are? The other thing is, I don't know where they came from. I have no idea how old this packet that says nothing but "TOMATO KETCHUP" is.
Let this be a lesson to you all: don't leave home without your box grater, and definitely not without your dry mustard.
