Andrew wrote earlier about the competition for renaming
Kangaroo meat to something more appetizing. The judging, which was conducted by the Food Companion International
magazine, is now complete.
The name chosen is "australus." They commented that the name sounds dignified, and that it will help promote
the meat. So, next time you’re at the grill, be sure to slap on some fine cuts of australus—medium rare
please.

It's still kangaroo meat, "not that there's anything wrong with that", in my opinion. I just don't understand what a "dignified" name is supposed to do. Am I supposed to say "I wouldn't eat kangaroo, but give me another of those australus steaks. Yum!"

Though personally I had no issue ordering a 'roo kebab, maybe there's something to the name thing. Kangaroos are worse than deer in terms of their damage to lands and overwhelming numbers. Eat up!
