Flu season is in full effect, and my roommate just caught it. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t get a chance to get a flu shot, and, it’s too late for me to get one now (it takes about 2 weeks for immunity). So, instead, I’ve been stockpiling vitamin C and leafy green vegetables in hopes of battling the dreaded influenza virus.
Also, some people at the University of Michigan have developed a healing foods pyramid. The site outlines some of the benefits from each healing food group. At the bottom of the pyramid is water, and at the peak are items like chocolate, wine (alcohol), and tea. Perhaps I should try strictly following this guide until my roommate exits the contagious phase of the flu.
