Sandra Lee has been a very good girl, lovingly preparing her tablescapes and scooping out the innards of prepared desserts so she can repackage them and make it look like she prepared them fresh, for you! She really cares. If you have a Sandra Lee in your life, you'll want to know: what should I buy for her this Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa? I'm here to help, I've researched her shows and I know exactly what she wants:
- Costco's big pack of Ziplock bags. She fills them with icing, cuts off a corner, and voila! A piping bag. Who needs piping bags when you have disposable plastic?
- Food coloring. Especially red and blue. You need lots of red and blue for Christmas and Hannukah, and some of her recipes call for an entire bottle.
- Sugar cookie mix. Sandra will use it to make some wild variation on sugar cookies (with cream cheese, confectioner's sugar, and her favorite, cake flour), lots of the aforementioned food coloring, and put it in a new package. And give it back to you for next Christmas.
- Manicures. It's tough to keep your nails perfect when you're cutting out sugar cookies all day long.
- Sanding sugar. I'd never heard of "sanding sugar" before I got to know Sandra. Now I know how truly useful it is. I think she'd especially like this violet color.
- Mini tartlet molds. You'll need them to make many of her best dishes, like pumpkin cheesecake petit fours.
- A good cook's dictionary. So she can look up "petit fours" and learn that they aren't made in tartlet molds, and they don't have pie filling.
