Made with an extremely rare and pricey single malt Balvenie whisky and topped with 22-karat gold leaf flakes, the Christmas pudding at the Prestonfield Hotel isn't for those who've spent all their Christmas cash on, I don't know, the needy or something. At £300 a slice, you'd better hope the whisky ice cream that comes on the side is included. I'm just saying.
James Thomson, owner of the Edinburgh hotel, says you'll have to order the dish ahead. "I think it will be very popular because... it is a time to spoil loved ones and yourself with great food and drink." Oh, that's right. 'Tis the season to spoil yourself.
