Coca-Cola Blak, Coke classic + coffee, to be launched in 2006

coca cola and coffee will be together in a different wayWe Americans will have one more reason to dislike the French in January 2006. Why? They will be the first to taste Coca-Cola Blak, a new coffee-infused soda. The drink is expected to be a "mid-calorie" beverage, with approximately half the sugar of regular Coke. Later in 2006, Blak will be rolled out to the U.S. and some other markets.

Of course, the formula is supposed to "vary based on local tastes" - which will mean, if Starbucks' bottled coffee beverages are any indication, lots of sugar for Americans. Nonetheless I am unreasonably excited about the possibility of mixing Coke and coffee. Will it be a little like Jolt, but not so much sugar? Ex...cellent.

It was a horribly unpleasant experience, I really enjoy coffee so I think that when they mess it up with way too much sugar and way too much cola flavor it destroys what could be a nice balance. Maybe coke will get it right.

It was a huge dissapointment, tasted horrible. Im not surprised it didnt get past the test market cities. Maybe this time around Coke will do it right.
