Cocinalia is a wonderful Spanish food blog and the writer, Fini, has come up with an excellent idea for a one off me-me: a virtual online food museum.
The idea is that next Sunday you post details of a picture or sculpture related to gastronomy - the links will form a ring of galleries where we have gaze and comment on the world's best and worst food related art; after-all not every-ones tastes are the same and while we may not know much about art we know what we like, don't we! If you haven't got a blog I am sure you can wander through the hush galleries of art and sculpture that those who do will create. Hopefully the team here at slashfood will join in with gusto.
I am a great fan of advertising posters - specifically drink and travel related ones - from the 1920's and 30's. Are these classed as 'art'? The first pop art?

Art Nouveau and Bauhaus and then Art Deco: great examples of all these styles can be seen in posters. Here's a good summary/primer: http://www.internationalposter.com/intro.cfm
While these vintage poster shows are dominated by the aperitif, coffee, and chocolate products in the food categories...what's wrong with that!
Can't remember the particular brand (not Lavazza which is what sticks in my head) but I absolutely fell in love with a coffee poster almost 10 years ago. Such a bummer that $650 was even more to me then than now.
Looking forward to this Sunday's "event."
