Just when you thought you were in the clear and you had all the science you needed to justify that daily glass of wine, here's news of a study saying that the possible health benefits of alcohol don't outweigh its health risks. The study, from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, was recently published in The Lancet. Dr. Rod Jackson, the study's chief researcher had this to say: "Do not assume there is a window in which the health benefits of alcohol are greater than the harms - there is probably no free lunch."
Jackson believes that previous studies suggesting the benefits of alcohol consumption failed to make considerations for other factors outside of drinking. While an occasional drink may not be detrimental to your health, experts say that advocating alcohol for heart health probably isn't a very sound suggestion.
I'm sure the wine industry in New Zealand will just love he hell out of this.

But understand this has always been an "in moderation" thing.
