Jamie Oliver: World's Top TV Chef

jamie oliverAccording to BBC News, British chef Jamie Oliver is the world's "favourite TV cook." The BBC polled more than 13,000 people in countries all over the world. Oliver, who has recently been re-vamping school lunches across Britain, said he was "honoured and humbled" by his win.

As an American, I haven't heard of the two tele-chefs in second and third place: James Martin and Rick Stein. Ainsley Harriott was in fourth place, and Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson rounds out the Top 5.

He did cause some uproar recently over killing a lamb on TV: http://tigerberries.blogspot.com/2005/11/jamie-oliver-spills-blood-of-lamb-film.html. But I agree with him, killing animals is how we get our meat.

I love him too, Elise, especially since I met him. He is totally adorable in the flesh. I like rick stein as well, never heard of the 3rd one, Ainslee is Annoying and of course Nigella is the woman we all want to be. That hair, those lips, that family pedigree. aaah

Don't get me wrong Jamie Oliver is very good and what he has done for our school dinners to make our children healthier is very good and so noble of him.
As for James Martin being third well it must be some kind of joke, the only thing I know him for is doing that stupid thing with the sugar.

This particular poll seems more of a British thing than an american poll
