I adore the gorgeous and richly authentic Saveur magazine, and have pointed you to recipes and articles from its pages many a time. Yet hardly ever have I included a link to their stylish web site. Why? Because it's useless.
Several times in the past month, I've headed over there to see what was going on with the November and December 2005 issues. My subscription's lapsed, and I wanted to check out the contents before heading to the newstand. I was foiled, though, by the fact that the "current issue" linked is from October 2005. I've searched many a time for recipes in its database, often sitting with an old issue in my lap - I own most of them. But nearly every time, I'm stymied, often finding other recipes from the issue I'm holding, but never the one I want.
I'd be happy if there was an explanation - maybe there are copyright issues with the contributing writers? maybe the webmaster is being replaced? maybe Colman Andrews just doesn't care about the 'net? - but nothing. Just "*** No results found for the selected criteria ***." Why does the Saveur web site suck so badly when the magazine so totally rocks?

I have to agree. Even the order form is broken. First it wouldn't accept my English zip code, so I had to work around that, and then it wouldn't let me pay or oeven order the Free trial since it kept asking me what money I wanted to pay... Emailed them about it, wonder if I get an answer. :) Hopefully they will since I really want to give them some money for their dead tree product.
