After reading reviews like this, as well as this one from Waffle Squadron Omega, I was pretty sure that the Jones Thanksgiving sodas would be horrible. Much to my younger brother’s surprise and joy, I brought home one of the gift packs for the holidays. I only had the chance to sample the Brussels sprout soda and the turkey and gravy soda, as I was busy cooking and eating a real Thanksgiving dinner. Honestly, neither was nearly as wretched as any of the reviews lead me to believe. More than one person that tried the turkey flavor said it tasted vaguely of orange soda. I agreed. As for the Brussels sprout soda, it definitely tasted “green,” as one reviewer mentioned. There was a vague Brussels sprout taste, but mainly I thought it had a sweet, syrupy, artificial-lime flavor. All in all, they didn’t really blow my skirt up. Still, it was a good gift and an even better conversation piece, which, I suppose, is the idea anyway.
