Andrew recently went over some wine pairing ideas for Thanksgiving, so I thought it only fair that we have some beer pairings for a holiday meal as well. The always-informative Beeradvocate.com has slew of Thanksgiving beer suggestions broken down into courses—apertifs, hors d’ oeuvres, dinner, dessert and digestif. If you follow their lead you’ll have taken down a six-pack worth of high-end brew by the end of the evening. Basically, they suggest lagers, pilsners and pale ales before the meal, Belgains with the main course, stouts with dessert and perhaps a barley wine as a nightcap. The Cleveland Plain Dealer also has a Thanksgiving beer feature. They consult with Garrett Oliver, brewmaster at the Brooklyn Brewery, who has some similar suggestions to those mentioned above.
I have a few bottles of Chimay in the fridge for tomorrow’s meal but now I'm not sure if that'll be sufficient.
