Marla or Agaroo? - new names for Kangaroo Meat

roo Deidre reported on the Kangaroo naming contest in Australia back in October. Now some of the entries have been released. The idea is to find a name for kangaroo meat to make it more marketable/palatable.

Over 300 entries have been submitted from all over the world. They range from MARSU (from marsupial) and derivatives from Aboriginal words such as MARLA and AGAROO. Some unlikely entries include the hilarious CYRIL (LOL!!) and ROADKILL. How anyone thought SKIPPY could be taken seriously though, I don't know...

You can place your suggestions at www.foodcompanion.com.
