At first, I was sort of shocked when I saw that internet access was available at this McDonald's in Chicago (can't rally explain what I was doing there at 2 am though). McInternet?! Then, when I came back to LA to do some research, I felt sort of stupid because McDonald's starting rolling out internet access to their US restaurants starting back in 2003, and in Japan in 2002. Damn, have I been in a food blogging bubble or what?! No, I just haven't been to a McDonald's in a really long time. *phew*
What I really want to know, though, is do people really lug their laptops to McDonald's, plop down with a bright red plastic tray next to their keyboards, and start surfing the web while munching on their Big Mac and large fries? Way back when the news was first announced, they had mentioned southern California, but I still haven't seen wireless connectivity in LA McDonald's. Guess I'll have to stop in for a sausage biscuit to check it out.

It's most likely for Nintendo DS, PSP, and WoW kids/weirdos who will play all afternoon for the price of fries and cokes. Look for this to affect free refills on drinks, btw, unless access time is limited by actual purchase.
