I've profiled $10,000 drinks on Luxist before but this is the first time I've seen the diamond ring paired up with a cake. Morton's Restaurant in Cincinnati has partnered with a local jeweler to offer a dessert called the"Girl's Best Friend" - a piece of Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake topped with a diamond ring for $10,000. Those who want the cake must call Morton's 48 hours in advance and choose the ring. These things always strike me as patently ridiculous. I don't think precious gems and food should really be combined, except for edible gold leaf, I'm a bit in love with that. [via Cake Fun]
