These blogmeets in the UK are getting more and more frequent. No sooner had Sam of that great food blog Becks and Posh left London than the gang were meeting again.
Yesterday, in a quiet corner of London's Eastend, six (plus a husband) bloggers met for a Spanish Wine and Food Tasting. Some superb wines - with favourites being a Sauvignon Blanc from Reuda and a red from the Penedes region - and an absolute feast of food. Great cheeses from Brindisa, paella, boiled quail eggs wrapped with prosciutto with lime flavoured cream cheese filling (wow!!); albondigas (meatballs), stuffed piquillo peppers, fresh raw marinated tuna.. and several more that I ate but forgot to write-down! I put my bakers hat on and supplied three olive-stuffed loaves of bread.
I was so enthralled with the food and the wine I forgot to take pictures of the people! I am certain the participants will do their own highlights write-up so you may find some people picks there. In the meantime here is a snap of a bowl of green padron peppers. Simply fried in a little olive oil until they wilt and then dusted with plenty of salt. Delicious.
Those who went included the host Jeanne and husband (Cooksister), myself (Spittoon), Cecile (Engish Patis), Jenni (Pertelote), Johanna (Passionate Cook) and Todd (London Chef). A great time was had by all. We met for lunch and were still there until the early evening!
The next UK blogmeet is set for December - a Christmas Edition where I hear a huge bunch of bloggers are attending. Should be superb.
