Sometimes I find that certain bottles sit in our liquor cabinet untouched for a while. Usually, it is one of those obscure liqueurs that nothing seems to really go with, but last night I noticed that we have a bottle of Kahlua that has been seriously neglected. This is one of my favorites, and the smooth, rich coffee-flavored liqueur can be used in a multitude of recipes. Other than simply tossing it in a glass of milk for a Brown Cow, or pouring into coffee, here are some of the recipes we came up with:
Coconut Cappucino
1 oz. Malibu Rum (Coconut Rum)
1 oz. Kahlua
1 oz. Espresso (cooled)
3 oz. Milk or Light Cream
Shake over ice and pour into highball glass
Top with whipped cream. Add chocolate shavings or toasted coconut
Toasted Almond Martini
1 oz. Kahlua
1 oz. Amaretto
2 oz. Cream
Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass
Caramilk Bar (Shooter)
¼ oz. ButterRipple Schnapps
¼ oz. Kahlua
½ oz. Crème de Cacao
