A damp and drizzly day wasn't going to ruin the event for the hundreds of people milling around London's Covent Garden today as the three day long Food Fair continued into its second day.
From gourmet burgers, South African biltong and arrays of olives through to fresh oysters and handmade sauces and dips there were a mass of stands set around the historic plaza. You may have been lucky in spotting three UK bloggers sampling the freebies - Cooksister Jeanne tucking into a delicious bacon sandwich, Christina of Thorngrove Table sampling various fruit wines and nibbling on one of hundreds of bread samples or liddle ol' me in raptures over a superb Gooseberry and Ginger curd. Rumours of me eating three different muffins are unfounded. It was one muffin, one chocolate brownie and some unadorned walnut bread, thank you very much!
The only thing we didn't see any of was fresh vegetables and fruit; which is a shame as I was hoping to pick up some quinces. I am sure both Jeanne and Christina will blog about the fair on their own blogs.

It was great fun, wasn't it! Biltong has been sampled extensively and I can certainly declare it safe for human consumption ;-) Saving the sweet sloe gin for another occasion... And I see you're putting *no* pressure on Christina and I to blog!!
