I don’t know what it is about the weekend, but I always seem to get a craving for Eggs Benedict, especially when I’m traveling. This morning I was reading Brunch.org, and was thrilled to find they have a rating and review section set up specifically for Eggs Benedict found in restaurants in various locations across the world. I wish I had this list five years ago, but it is going with me whenever I travel now.
When I make my own at home, I actually prefer to use béarnaise sauce rather than hollandaise since I love the flavor of tarragon with eggs. The standard topping of ham/Canadian bacon is definitely good, but I try to mix it up and add smoked salmon, crab, asparagus, tomato, Gouda, or Brie instead.

I clicked a few of the reviews. They're well written, and they were all dated back in 2001.

The Nakoma in Northern California has an Eggs Benedict variation served on crab cakes. I've also seen smoked trout instead of ham. Thanks for the tip on the bearnaise sauce!
