Admittedly I've never eaten a peanut butter sandwich in my life, but this seems strange to my ears, peanut butter in slice form? A company called P.B. Slices now sells peanut butter wrapped up in the same little plastic packets that processed cheese comes in. Not for peanut butter purists, the product is clearly aimed at kids and those who prepare their lunches. The company web site doesn't really explain how they unstuck the peanut butter (although the slices do have to be stored in the refrigerator) and I haven't seen these in stores yet.[via Cakehead]

I am pretty sure they rely on the natural peanut oils that separate from the butter during settling to unstick. I can not confirm that as I have never tried them myself. I prefer the old fashioned method of spreading crunchy peanut butter on wheat bread with a knife and a tall glass of ice cold milk. It makes a great snack on the weekends when you aren't in the mood to do anything. Or better yet, toast the bread and spread the peanut butter on it while it's still warm. The heat from the bread will really soften the peanut butter and cause it to release the oil very fast. That's comfort food.

Personally, I find the knife would probably spread the peanut butter better than the tall glass of milk, but if you need more than one object to really tamp down that PB, go for it... ;)
