Entitled “Meatscape #2,” the image you see here is one of 12 in artist Nicolas Lampert’s Meatscape series. Like this image, the other 11 in the series involve landscapes populated by both aloof bystanders and enormous pieces of meat.
In an artist’s statement, Lampert says that the series is meant to pose questions of awareness of food production, connectedness with food sources, and the politics and power dynamics of eating animals.

While the artist may have wanted me to contemplate the impact of cattle production on our environment, my first thought was just "Mmmmm". That is a nicely cooked piece of beef, looks like a cross-rib roast.
Sorry, but I'm just a confirmed carnivore.
If it's any consolation to the artist, most of the other pictures in the series looked much less edible.
