Rachael Ray takes over the world from cabin in Adirondacks

rachael ray takes over the worldRachael Ray - you either love her or hate her. But the "loves" are far outnumbering the critics, and she's fast becoming "one of the most influential people cooking today." From humble beginnings as a foodie, renting a $550-a-month cabin in the Adirondacks, she's now launching her own magazine (Every Day With Rachael Ray) and publishing her 11th book (365: No Repeats). And then there are, of course, the four TV shows.

Her career was jump started when she was working for a food and equipment store in Albany, NY, and she started teaching a class on how to get dinner on the table in 30 minutes. Soon she was on TV in Schenectady. Three years later, she wowed the Food Network folks and before long she was wowing you and me.

She's taking over the world. As she likes to say, "how cool is that?"

I've made a number of meals based on dishes and they've all tuned out very tasty. Some of the things she makes (especially in the more recent shows) make me think, "uh, no," but more than that elicit a"huh, that looks good."

Although, after reading the article, I think I like her even a little more. It sounds like she's had a long road to where she is now and I can respect that.

"Look, I just found the cheapest pancakes in Paramus" is the same... Oh, she just let us in on a little secret, I'm sooo excited.

In person, I'm sure she's friendly and normal, I don't want to cast doubt on that. I just can't watch her, so I don't.
