Making the Spanglish sandwich

spanglish movieI wouldn't quite call it a food movie (it's no Babette's Feast) but Spanglish does feature one scene that will really make you want a sandwich. Adam Sandler plays a Los Angeles restauranteur who, in one scene creates a simple and amazing egg, cheese and bacon sandwich. The Orexia blog mentioned the sandwich this week and pointed out that there are a lot of people interested in this particular sandwich. The Collective Detective has the recipe from the DVD extras (apparently the one and only Thomas Keller from French Laundry taught Sandler to make the sandwich). And now I know what to have for lunch. Although I better be prepared to make that the meal of the day, it is supposed to have 1200 calories.
