Six drinks that shook the world

The National Geographic News site has an article on the six drinks that changed the world, and while the list is fairly predictable (beer, wine, spirits, coffee, etc), it's still rather interesting. Right now I'm drinking tea myself so the section about that was intriguing.

But there seems to be some drinks missing from the list, like Kool-Aid. And I'm sure Postum changed the world in some way.

It's a great read (as is anything by Standage, although this is his first food-oriented book), and provides a great look at how history is intertwined with these drinks.

And as an Atlantan, I especially enjoyed the section on Coke, as he debunks a ton of the myths/propaganda that Coke spreads about their origins.
