Chandra over at Lick the Spoon thinks she's stumbled upon the Holy Grail of Brownies, and judging from her brownie rant, she seems to know her way around a pan of brownies. Her complaints against most brownie recipes are many: either they are too soft, too cardboardy, too chewy, too coyingly sweet. But she seems to have found her brownie match - a meaningful brownie, in Chan's own words - in Nigella's Brownies, and she very sweetly shares the recipes with the rest of us brownie lovers out here. I'm not quite as picky about my brownies as Chandra is, but even I have to admit, this brownie does look like a pretty darn perfect specimen.

Your entry - '...too COYINGLY sweet.'
Chandra's entry - '...Brownies can easily become COINGLY sweet...'
Respectively, one's not the correct word, the other's not a word.
The correct term and usage is 'cloying' ('sweet' is redundant).
Take care!
